Tax Senior – Recently Qualified CTA

Baker Tilly Hughes Blake has a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified CTA to join our growing tax team as a tax senior. Our tax team work with domestic and international clients across a range of sectors, including technology, healthcare, retail, consumer markets, hospitality and entertainment, start up and inbound clients.

The successful candidate will work across all tax heads including Income Tax, Corporate Taxes, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, Capital Acquisitions Tax and Stamp Duty, as well as working on consultancy and restructuring assignments with senior members of staff.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining client relationships
• Managing successful delivery of tax services to clients
• Assisting with the preparation and review of corporate and income tax returns for our client base of family owned businesses and high net worth individuals
• Assisting with preparation of detailed consultancy projects
• Working with managers, directors and Partner on all tax matters arising for our clients
• Liaising with Revenue regarding ad hoc and ongoing tax related issues

This is an entry level position requiring good organisation and multi-tasking skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and experience.  The role would suit a part qualified Accounting Technician or a candidate considering commencing training as an accounting technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of the day to day accounting function of Baker Tilly Hughes Blake.
  • Accurate posting and data entry to firm’s software packages
  • Posting of purchase invoices, set up creditors’ payment and monthly creditors reconciliation
  • Bank lodgements/cheque requisition and bank reconciliation
  • Assist with monthly close off
  • Deal with supplier queries and invoices
  • General administration duties in support of the finance team
  • Petty cash management
  • Provide adhoc support to other departments, eg Reception

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite

The Marketing and IT Administrator will work across both departments providing admin support to the marketing manager and the IT manager.

Duties include:

  • Assisting department manager with day to day marketing tasks and coordinating marketing projects and activities as requested, including website editing, social media campaigns.
  • Organising the production of branded items such as stationery and merchandise
  • Content creation to include weekly blog and quarterly newsletter
